sustainability.

Lucy and Nigel have developed and continue to manage these properties personally so you can be assured of a bespoke, sustainable and high quality stay.

Substantial workshop

There is a substantial workshop on site where Nigel is often found creating or mending!

Renewable energy

Green Farm House has invested in various renewable energy devices and can proudly say Nigel is working towards a situation where they will require very little, if any , electricity from the National Grid during the summer months.

Self sufficiency

In summer 2022 around 70% of the electricity was home produced and with the planned introduction of a powerful battery in the coming months it is hoped to get to near 100%  self-sufficiency by summer 2023.

On-site workshop produces handmade:

  • kitchens
  • blinds and curtains
  • cabinets
  • outdoor granite topped tables
  • living roofs
  • oak planters
  • solar panels – all holiday units
  • heat pumps – WW and LB
  • wood burners – all units
  • living roofed outbuildings – all units
  • sympathetic building repairs!
We stayed in the Little Barn. In spite of the cold weather it remained warm and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable. We also appreciated the large walk-in shower which worked perfectly and all the thoughtful little touches.
Guest from Matfield
It was our second stay at Green Farm Barns , we wanted to go back as we had such a lovely time and wanted to try out the other accommodation. We were not disappointed at all. The Garden Barn was excellent in every way and our hosts Lucy and Nigel were again very welcoming and helpful. They even arranged perfect weather for us as well! Our break could not have been more relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you so much.
